PACKAGING FOR THE PLANET

We believe we can always improve the containers we put our formulas in – both for the planet and the people who use them.

That’s why we’re constantly developing new ways to make our packaging more eco-friendly, while still remaining effective and easy to use.

OUR GOALS FOR BETTER SUSTAINABILITY

2023 was a big year in our mission to be more sustainable. We decreased our usage of virgin plastic, launched refillable pouches, transitioned to certified sustainable paper (FSI, SFI), and increased domestic sourcing of materials.

But the world needs a lot less plastic waste. So we have big plans that will help us do our part.

INCREASING OUR PCR CONTENT

PCR (post-consumer recycled) content is plastic that has been recycled and then used to make new packaging.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

79% of plastic is single use. Every year, at least 14 million tons of it ends up in our oceans.* The use of PCR content in packaging is more resource-efficient and can decrease the amount of plastic waste in our environment.

USING MORE SUSTAINABLE PAPER

The certifications SFI and FSC were developed to promote more sustainable forestry, and help ensure that paper products meet rigorous standards that reduce environmental impacts.

By 2024, all of our cardboard, corrugate, and paper cartons will have SFI/FSC certification.

Reducing our Carbon Footprint

SMALLER SUPPLY FOOTPRINT

By 2025, 90% of all packaging will be sourced in North America.

Less Recycling Confusion

By 2026, labels with transparent recycling instructions will be on all packaging.

Reducing Plastic Use

We’re focusing on packaging reduction, including new refillable pouches.
