WHAT IS B CORP?


B Corp (or Benefit Corporation) is a certification that measures a company’s impact on society as a whole. It determines if a company meets specific standards for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

WHY IT MATTERS

At Every Man Jack, we don’t want to do business as usual. We believe ecological and profit goals are mutually achievable, and we work hard to positively affect the individuals who work here, the communities we’re a part of, and the world we live in. Achieving B Corp status helps us gauge our impact as a force for good.

This score is a vital temperature check on the well-being and happiness of Every Man Jack employees. Measuring financial security, health and safety, wellness, career development, engagement, and satisfaction, it also takes into account our rich, team-centric culture. We have nearly 70 full-time employees who work a hybrid remote and in-office schedule, who also receive a robust bonus structure, generous health benefits, 401k matching, role clarity and growth plans, and much more.

COMMUNITY 19.3

This score measures our community impact. With several strong volunteer policies and practices in place – including partnerships with the National Forest Foundation, which supports the conservation and recreation of national forests, and Big City Mountaineers, providing free backcountry trips for youth from disinvested communities – we value engaging with and positively impacting our communities. Every employee gets 24 hours/year to dedicate towards volunteering, and we match up to $500 per employee for charitable donations.

ENVIRONMENT 13.0

This score evaluates a company’s overall environmental management practices as well as its impact on the air, climate, water, land, and biodiversity. Every Man Jack’s source reduction, hazardous waste disposal, consolidated supplier network, and emission, packaging, and chemical reduction methods are actively working to make our world a better place. This year, in partnership with the National Forest Foundation, we are funding the planting of more than 22,000 trees.

CUSTOMERS 3.1

This score looks at the quality of a company’s products, its ethical marketing practices, and the impact that those have on its relationship with customers. By providing detailed product warranties, better quality assurance, clear feedback and complaint channels, and sharing transparent data usage and privacy policies, we are prioritizing our customers and their experience.

B CORP IS JUST THE START

We can always do better – for our customers, for our employees, for our communities, and for our planet.

Going forward, we aim to reach 100% sustainable packaging by 2025 through a mix of post-consumer recycled materials and refillable or recyclable packaging. To ensure we meet that goal, we’re partnering with our supplier network on aggressive reductions in water, electric, and solid waste.

We’ve also partnered with CH Robinson, a transportation logistics company, to map out CO2 emissions across our freight network and further drive down emissions and miles traveled to customers.
