Joseph DeAcetisFashion & Design EditorJoseph is one of a handful of barometers of taste in men’s fashion in the world. A graduate of FIT (marketing concentration), he began his career as an Assistant Fashion Editor in Paris for Vogue Homme. Paris shaped his sensibility at a time when fashion was exploding with the likes of Lanvin, Versace, and Armani translating their franchises on a global scale. Upon his return to the United States, he became Fashion Editor of Esquire Magazine. While there he launched Esquire Gentlemen, its first quarterly special supplement and broke new ground there, bringing in talent such as Peter Beard, Michael Roberts, and Antoine Verglas. After a period of freelance styling work with People and POV Magazine, Playboy recruited Joseph to build its source of authority in fashion. Within the first year, ad sales rose by 40%. This sense of authority was the catalyst that brought a heightened sense of elegance to the magazine. While there he served as men’s fashion commentator in the press for designers such as John Varvatos, Calvin Klein, and Giorgio Armani. His accomplishments have been featured in DNR, WWD, NYT and WSJ. |
